I put premium on Nutrition, Exercise, Lifestyle as
integral components of my well being. Being able to nourish the body
with the right food though proper diet and exercising it on a regular
basis to make sure its always “tuned-up” ensures over all health and
wellness of an individual. And lifestyle in turn defines an individual’s
consistency in adhering to his commitment – which is the pursuit of a
healthy mind, body, and soul!
There
is no magic when it comes to Nutrition and there is no argument to the
fact that nutrition promotes healthy living. Serious illnesses and
chronic conditions that lower our quality of life can be prevented if we
learn the basics about nutrition. Not to mention that staying healthy
through good nutrition will also reduce health care costs.

Another
addition to the “health and wellness” equation is Exercise. Exercise is
a key factor in staying healthy. Exercise strengthens the bones, heart,
and lungs, tones muscles, improves vitality, relieves depression, and
helps you sleep better. With the kind of work that we have, it is
important that we embrace this as part of our life style.
Why
do I know all of these? I am a practitioner of course! I am very much
mindful about the things that I eat and the gym is pretty much an
extension of my house. I keep a close watch on the things that I eat
because it has bearing on one’s disposition. As the old saying goes,
“What you eat is what you are.” As a gym enthusiast, I am a living
example of its positive effect to one’s health and lifestyle. Despite
the hectic activities and tight schedules that I have, I have never been
absent just because of sickness. This proves that fact that good
nutrition combined with plenty of exercise and a healthy lifestyle will
yield positive out puts for the individual.
Lifestyle.
This is about the things that an individual does on a customary basis. I
guess one part of employees in this industry’s lifestyle would be
cigarettes – I DON’T SMOKE. We all have our reasons but then again its
what we do who makes us who we are. I am not a saint to tell people what
to do but being an example, practicing what you preach, and living up
to your own words would make a whole lot of difference. As they say,
Walk the Talk because you can never change people, you can only
influence them.
I
also post as a physical trainer (specially to my gym buds) for some
friends. I love working with people and helping them create a program
that would improve their physical aspect. Exercising and having a
regimen will definitely improve one’s physical condition – making them
less prone to sickness and more active in life. Having a good build also
has in benefits in terms of personal disposition – confidence to be
precise. It makes you look good and feel good about yourself.
This
Associate Health & Wellness Program (AHWP) initiative is really
something that I am all excited about! I want to help the group create
programs for the associates that would demonstrate noticeable results
that would in turn influence “others” to also embrace the initiative.
This will definitely be a great avenue for health & wellness
enthusiasts to be able to share what they know with their colleagues.
